Roy Grillo is an incessant creator.
Like many artists’, his studio is littered with works at all stages of development. So wide ranging are his talents that an uninformed visitor might think that the space is shared by many artists. His use of materials and techniques range from pastels drawings to pencil sketches to oil paintings, as well as wood, metal and stone sculptures. His exploration has been likened to that of Picasso. His stylized rendition of actor Anthony Hopkins won him the first place award in the ‘Portraits’ group show at the Topanga Canyon Gallery in California. Roy’s eye portraits are collected by a number of celebrities.
Roy’s myriad styles provide him with ample opportunity to explore a desire to communicate the human condition effectively, a recurring theme which pervades much of his evolving body of work.

“I consider myself to be a human being and a student of the human condition. I am a barometer that measures the relative pressure of society. As a result, I am an Artist.” -Grillo
